Holy moly! The next OIW on October 8th is going to feature one of the most amazing spectacles we’ve ever had.
There’s brilliant support from Clock Opera, So Say So, La Shark and a special guest Josh Weller DJ set, but most notably, in the headline slot is a 22-piece, all female, alternative choir called GAGGLE! Yep, it sounds pretty crazy but it’s much more amazing than you can imagine.
Here’s a great remix of the track “Crows” by the girls, and some of the nice words written about this phenomenal, er, gaggle, right here…
Gaggle – Crows (Spawn Of Gaggle Remix)
“Gaggle – the most exciting, innovative and genuinely imaginative force at large in music right now. More infectious than a mnemonic plague (ahem) and going off with the full force of Blondie’s ‘Atomic’, they sound like 10,000 MIAs – and we bet they don’t kiss nice.”
REBECCA ROBINSON (NME)
“The most extraordinary band I’ve heard in a long time, called Gaggle… With a name like Gaggle they’re going to be good, right? They are. They’re brilliant.” “YOU HAVE BEEN GAGGLED.”
HUW STEPHENS (BBC – Radio 1)
“They look like a bunch on nu rave pre raphelites if you can imagine that and they’ve all got these amazing technicolour cloaks on.” “They sound absoloutely wonderful on air but are something you want to experience live” “Brilliant”
LAUREN LAVERNE (BBC Radio 6)
“A 20-odd-piece alt.grrrl choir, what can you say?…..it’s exciting to stumble upon something like Gaggle….unless you mainline LSD and read The Female Eunuch from morning until night – unlike anything you’ve ever seen.”
