OIW Takeover Hoxton This Week!

Woo Hoo! Yes, this Thursday OIW crashlands at Hoxton Bar & Grill with a hotbed of great new bands that we’ve curated just for you guys. To get you scenesters in the mood here’s a taster of the FOUR top acts we’ve got lined up for you, AND we should also mention that Mr Josh Weller will also be coming down to throw some tunes and keep you dancing all night with our now legendary DJ Dave Depares… Yep, it’s gonna be a hell of a party!

La Shark!

October 8th sees the return of OIW’s favourite band, La Shark! The best ever reason we can think of to get to a gig unfashionably early. Expect unmissable theatrics and crafted mayhem, seriously, you need to see these guys to believe! And then you get to see So Say So, followed by Clock Opera, the amazing 22-piece, all female, alternative choir known as Gaggle AND a special guest Josh Weller DJ set too, woo!

Holy moly! The next OIW on October 8th is going to feature one of the most amazing spectacles we’ve ever had.

There’s brilliant support from Clock Opera, So Say So, La Shark and a special guest Josh Weller DJ set, but most notably, in the headline slot is a 22-piece, all female, alternative choir called GAGGLE! Yep, it sounds pretty crazy but it’s much more amazing than you can imagine.

Here’s a great remix of the track “Crows” by the girls, and some of the nice words written about this phenomenal, er, gaggle, right here…

AFTER PARTY AT THE BLACK GARDENIA

Now here are my top 5 reasons why Die Hard is the greatest action movie of all time:

1) It’s an action/comedy/romance movie all rolled up into one.

2) It has aged wonderfully, and was actually filmed in a skyscraper.

3)  Every single woman throughout the movie wants to sleep with John McClane, and he’s not into it.

4) There’s a little bit of exposition revealed about every character, unlike every other Die Hard film. Hans Gruber, Argyll the limo driver/Al Powell the cop, even down to the minor characters; they all have their own little moment in the film. I think this is screenplay genius.

5) Bruce Willis has hair.

I have no idea why I wrote about this.
