As you see in the photo above of *Sam, we’ve been super busy recently and have been a bit lapse in updating the blog and generally keeping you informed about what the hell we’re planning. Well thankfully the phones stopped ringing long enough for us to sort ourselves out and book an incredible night for you guys at the Old Queens Head on August 18th. Details are below, hopefully see you there!
* this is only an artist’s impression of Sam, Sam actually has slightly less fur.
AUGUST 18TH- OLD QUEENS HEAD – LIANNE LA HAVAS, EMMA’S IMAGINATION & GRASS HOUSE – FREE!!
– LIANNE LA HAVAS –
Lianne La Havas is a 21 year-old London singer-songwriter who has the kind of breathtaking voice that we know will take your breath away. She’s currently in the midst of recording her debut album so we’re pretty damn fortunate that she’s available to play with us.
Check this recent Black Cab Session out and you’ll see what we’re chatting about…
– EMMA’S IMAGINATION –
Also on the bill we have Emma’s Imagination a super talented young Scot who came to the spotlight after appearing in Sky One’s ‘Must Be The Music’ and being signed by mister Gary Barlow to his label ‘Future’. Not bad, eh?
– GRASS HOUSE –
And first on the bill we have London’s Grass House who seem to be doing good things on the scene right now. Here’s a nice Artrocker review: “There’s some beautiful obscure observations on this three-track beauty; imagery such as ‘I’m a cockroach on a guillotine’ and ‘snowcones, snowcones, they cover me in breadcrumbs’ standing out in particular. It’s the sort of prophetic, spoken-song from the likes of Bright Eyes that you notice first, but then the second track ‘Snowcones’ brings to mind the half-serious-beat-poetry that Mike Myers performed in So I Married An Axe Murderer. This is definitely music to be played and enjoyed in an off-the-wall bar by candlelight and expensive beer.”
