Hello Monday! How was your weekend? And why did you decide to fuck it all up by turning up… Ah well, here’s some tunes that rang out like birds singing this morning and made everything seem fluffy again. And also three pretty damn bizarre band shots to go along with them.

Atlas Sound aka Bradford Cox - er, yes, girls dig Cox
First up, some chirpy-ness coming from Atlas Sound aka Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox. This turned up as the opener on the great 4AD compilation they put out over Christmas and is one of those playful, summer tunes that always makes life seem a bit more wonderful, go on try it, you might like it.

Local natives
Then an absolutely gorgeous heart-melting track from Local Natives. The guys are big favourites of ours at OIW and our pals exlovers (who played a stunning new set at our bash last Wednesday) are playing with them at Hoxton bar & Grill tomorrow night. Sadly, it’s sold out folks, but Local Natives have another London show in early Feb so you might want to catch them then. Until then here’s “Who Knows, Who Cares” which is actually quite melancholic for a Monday but dreamy enough to distract you from the bad Monday vibes.

And finally, the superbly apocalyptic, beautiful, haunting, cinematic and downright brilliant “Highway Of Endless Dreams” by M83, aka French dude Anthony Gonzalez. Love this tune so much, the constant driving epic-ness of it makes you want to throw your cup of tea over your boss and storm out to make something amazing, or destroy something, or just do something, damn it!
